I’m wondering if after that VFTW may switch to Carly… I mean Kristy still isn’t great but she has been a bit better the past couple of weeks, and after Carly’s trash tonight one can only wonder.

With the three terrible song choices (Michael, Syesha and Carly), Kristi may actually make it back to the couch this week. She sang well enough and country singers have a tendency to hang around longer than they should.

Personally I enjoyed the passion and delivery of her performance the most tonight. She looked beautiful, and she sang the song the way it should be done. She deserves to be here for at least another week, if not longer.

I think the trouble is that I know and love Martina. Kristy ended well, and hopefully her voters will keep her in. She was nowhere near my least favorite. Probably somewhere in the middle for me.

hmm… actually pretty good — I think maybe even top 3 or 4 of the night. She was so bad early in the competition that people are against her, but she has gotten a little better each week.

I don’t think it was pimping, she was actually good and she did look good too, as Simon said.

I just can’t believe who this girl keeps beating out. I mean, she should’ve been LONG gone already! She’s got more lives than a Bhuddist cat!
Seriously, much as I just don’t “feel” Carly [AT ALL], I can’t stand to see one more more-talented singer go home before this girl. She needs to go back to her cowboys!

ehh i disagree with alot of people she didn’t do that good in the first few weeks but i knew she had a beter voice then what she has shown so far. and she did really good tonight , alot of people have already showed off there best stuff , and didn’t do so good 2night i think carly michael johns and seyesha should go home before klc. carly and seyesha aren’t as good as they are lead on to be , carly isn’t that bad but she goes out of control somtimes , shes much beter in studio then live. mj should just stick to how he sang the other week more soul less wanta be rocker. seyesha goes home this week and carly and mj will fight over number 6 and 7.

One thought I had overnight: if Kristy Lee is choosing her own songs, she is one smart cookie. As Simon said during his critique, how could he say anything negative after she cried/sang about making your own choices/singing your own song, regardless.

Hopefully, Rickey let’s this comment go through without bumping me from the board….but the problem in the beginning with Kristy is that everyone assumed she was another Carrie…and the public probably didn’t want another Carrie or even Kelly…but if you’ve got a good voice you should be a contender.
And she was a contender. She just needs to learn how to walk the stage, feel comfortable and stop standing like she’s on a horse.
She’s cute, has blond hair, she would fit in well in Country, but I was reading on another board (CMT) that country is tired of the Idols filling the country music slot. I would imagine after a while that would happen.

Randy said on Larry King that he would sign KLC. Everyone was surprised including Simon, but that’s what he said, so maybe there’s something there that doesn’t come across on the TV screen. She’s a pretty blond, thin, wholesome looking — but will country embrace her? Will she be competition to Carrie, who is the queen of country right now?

I thought it was a very good vocal performance. She still looks a bit awkward and geeky on stage, especially when she stands with her thumbs hooked in her pockets.

This song said a lot about her Idol journey and it made sense for her.

She’s getting better and better every week, feeling more confident. I’m surprised the judges didn’t compare her to Martina though like they did with Sayesha to Whitney and Fantasia. Didn’t seem fair to Sayesha. Martina is on the same calibar as Whitney and Mariah Carey.

I kind of like her geeky factor. She is pretty but has those crazy eyes. She can sing well but is understated. She stands like she is on a horse. I get why the guys like her – she is the girl who you can have fun with and dress her up too. At first when all the pretty blondes were making it through, I thought why are they looking for another Carrie. Was it to throw people off from who they wanted to win because no one wants another Carrie? Whoever said others have given their best already and she is just warming up – look out. I don’t think she sounds like Carrie, and I think her appeal is different. How she will handle Mariah will be another story, if she makes it through till next week. It seems like I always cheer on the underdog. I still love all the guys though. Hmm.

I don’t believe that “country music is getting tired of the Idols filling the country music slot” I think the exact opposite is true. These Idols are making them money and making country music very popular to those who wouldn’t normally listen to it. If country music felt that way, they wouldn’t be accepting pop artists switching over to country like Cheryl Crow, Jewel and Bon Jovi.

Also there is no competition with Carrie for anyone (Idol or not). For her to win the best new artist and female vocalist in her first year out is unheard of. That’s how great she is. She’s my family’s favorite Idol of all time.

Ya know, I have to be honest. For the longest time I was STUNNED to see Kristy coming on. Week after week, my wife and I would sit there dumbfounded as to how she kept moving on.

But I must say, this chick is good! Why? Because she tries. Simple. She does have a voice, but just hasn’t picked the right songs for her voice. However, I think she’s getting better. And that’s why she deserves to be here.

Michael Johns deserved to get booted! Why? Because he was a wannabe poser. Kristy is anything but that. She’s got style, she’s totally gorgeous!, and she CAN sing.

I’m rooting for you Kristy! You won’t win the competition, but I hope you hang in there a lot longer. Keep up that spirit babe!
