Zachary Quinto to Guest Star on ‘Hannibal’ for Season 3

Zachary Quinto is keeping it in the NBC family.

Currently starring on Thursday night drama The Slap, Quinto will next guest star on the upcoming season of Hannibal. Quinto is scheduled to appear in Season 3, and while the exact number of episodes he’s contracted for is uncertain, it could very well become a recurring role. If nothing else, he’ll probably need a new TV role soon, since I can’t imagine NBC is happy with The Slap’s cratering ratings. Then again, the threshold for success on NBC is arguably lower now than at any other point in the network’s history.

Quinto will reportedly play the role of a patient of Bedelia (Gillian Anderson). Quinto is no stranger to gritty, primetime horror dramas, as he had a key role as the serial killer Bloody Face on American Horror Story: Asylum.

This guest-starring role will reunite Quinto with Hannibal showrunner Bryan Fuller, who was one of the writers on Heroes, the show that gave Quinto his big break. Hannibal doesn’t return until the summer, but we’re already pretty stoked for the premiere, since it’s one of the most criminally under-watched shows on television right now. Perhaps summer will treat it better than midseason has.
