‘Young and the Restless’ Star Beau Kazer Dead at 63

A soap opera legend has passed away.

Beau Kazer, the actor who originated the role of Brock Reynolds on The Young and the Restless in 1974, has died at age 63. Kazer reportedly passed away on December 30 in Thousand Oaks, California, although word of his death is only now being released to the public.

Kazer had been a regular on The Young and the Restless for the better part of its four decade run, most recently appearing in several episodes back in 2013 dedicated to Jeanne Cooper, the actress who played Brock’s mother, Katherine Chancellor.

Kazer’s widow, Sharon Alkus, states that her husband had always been proud of his time on The Young and the Restless, and claimed it was a huge part of his life.

Similarly, at least one former castmate has come forward to express their condolences and offer memories of the late Kazer:

“The Young and the Restless has lost another of its own… RIP Beau Kazer (Brock) I remember the first time I heard your voice and thought wow! This guy should have been in radio!” said Daniel Goddard, who played the role of Cane Ashby opposite Kazer, in a post on Facebook. “Then I watched u act and was blown away with how natural and honest your performances always were. God Bless.”

Our condolences go out to Kazer’s family and friends.
