‘The X-Files’ May Return With David Duchovny + Gillian Anderson
Since the limited-series return of 24 proved successful for the network, Fox is in talks to bring back another much-beloved series: The X-Files, with original stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
We want to believe!
TV Group chairman Gary Newman revealed he is “hopeful” that the series will make a comeback.
Unfortunately, the talks have not reached the creative phase yet, but rather have been centered around logistics, specifically when the revival could be shot, taking into consideration the schedules of Anderson and Duchovny.
Added Fox executive Dana Walden, “Gary and I both worked [at Fox] through the entire run of The X-Files. It was a great experience. We’ve maintained good relationships with Chris, David and Gillian.”
“We’re very hopeful, but it’s hard. The actors are very busy. They have a lot going on. Chris [Carter, the show’s creator] has a lot on his plate, so it’s just trying to carve out the time. “
As Duchovny has joked of The X-Files in the past, “it’s not done until one of us dies.”
