‘X Factor UK’ Favorite Forced To Drop Out Due To Visa Issue
One of the top contenders on this season of The X Factor UK has been forced to leave the competition: Ivy Grace Paredes had to withdraw from the competition due to issues with her visa application.
A spokesperson for The X Factor UK stated, “There was an issue with her application being approved. That meant she was not granted a visa in time and sadly had to withdraw from the competition.”
What makes this so heartbreaking is that, on last night’s episode, Ivy made it through to the Six Chair Challenge for mentor Sharon Osbourne. Rumors are that she actually receives a chair from Osbourne at the Six Chair Challenge on next week’s episode, which has already been taped. However, Ivy will not be advancing to the Judges’ Houses round.
Specifics were not released, but apparently Ivy was unable to obtain a visa to film in Los Angeles at Sharon’s Judges’ Houses venue due to “an issue with her past”.
“Ivy was a real hope for the judges after her audition but her dreams are in tatters,” said a source close to the situation. “She was point blank refused the visa. X Factor tried their best to help, but ran out of time.”
Of course, the silver lining for the remaining finalists is that one of the singers eliminated from Sharon Osbourne’s Over 25s category in the Six Chair Challenge will be brought back to the competition, similar to how Mason Noise returned after being cut at the Six Chair Challenge last year.
Still, it’s a shame to lose Ivy. I would have bet the farm on her making the live shows, and potentially going pretty far in the competition. But I suppose we’ll never know now. Hopefully, she gets her issues sorted out and comes back next year.
