‘X Factor’ Judge Nicole Scherzinger Wrote Song About Cheating Ex Lewis Hamilton
The X Factor UK judge Nicole Scherzinger and Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton dated for nearly eight years. However, while Nicole stated in a recent Jonathan Ross interview that she wishes him happiness, a recently leaked song shows that her emotions were incredibly raw following the breakup.
The leaked track, titled “The End”, was reportedly recorded in 2013 and written by Nicole and English singer-songwriter Tom Odell. The song allegedly tells the story of her split with Hamilton, and features the singer accusing him of cheating on her.
“Love, you’ve been f*****g around, and you thought it’d be fine,” the lyrics proclaim. “Now you’re tryna explain, tryna make me see, that it was getting late, you needed company.”
A source close to the situation said, “Nicole, who wrote the majority of the lyrics, based the track on a former relationship and was adamant she would not hold back with the truth. He broke her heart but she wanted this song to show her strength and help inspire other women who find themselves in a similar situation.”
The song initially leaked last week, but is only just coming to wider attention, thanks to all the media attention surrounding The X Factor and Nicole in particular, this season.
For what it’s worth, I love Nicole on The X Factor, and I think she’s one of the most underrated singers of her generation. “Run” is an incredible song, and I think “The End” is a darker, angrier companion to that track. You can listen to “The End” below:
