WWE Wants Ronda Rousey For Wrestlemania 33
Current WWE performer Brock Lesnar will be fighting Mark Hunt at UFC 200 while under contract. In exchange, WWE is trying to leverage UFC into loaning them a top female talent for one of their big events. Earlier reports stated that WWE wanted octagon veteran and Dancing With the Stars runner-up Paige VanZant for Summerslam, but that’s apparently not the only request WWE is making.
According to Forbes, WWE wants Ronda Rousey for Wrestlemania 33, which will take place at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida on April 2, 2017. It wouldn’t be that far-fetched to get her, considering she made an appearance at Wrestlemania 31, teaming with The Rock for a segment in which they got into a physical confrontation with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. However, the difference now is that WWE wants Rousey for an actual match.
If nothing else, this could be a great drawing card for Wrestlemania 33, particularly if Rousey doesn’t fight in UFC before Wrestlemania, since this would be UFC fans’ first look at Rousey in action since her defeat at the hands of Holly Holm at UFC 193 last November. A match against a natural athlete like Charlotte could really deliver, and there’s already a storyline foundation for it, considering Rousey actually challenged Charlotte last year on Twitter.
But what do you think? Is Rousey going to WWE good for her career? Who should she wrestle, if anybody? Sound off in the comments!
