WWE Survivor Series 2016 Results: Goldberg Defeats Brock Lesnar In Seconds

WWE Survivor Series 2016 was LIVE from Toronto tonight, and it was an insane show, in more ways than one. On the one hand, some of the finishes were pretty predictable, such as Charlotte and Bayley being the sole survivors in the women’s 5-on-5 Survivor Series match. On the other hand, there were some pretty unpredictable decisions.

Chief among those surprises was Bill Goldberg defeating Brock Lesnar in mere seconds in the main event. Lesnar was surprised by a spear, and then hit him with the Jackhammer for the win at just one minute and 25 seconds into the main event. Needless to say, the crowd was stunned. And yet, in a way, I kind of loved that finish. I mean, if Brock had to lose, this kind of protects him more than losing a hard fought match would have. Lesnar essentially underestimated Goldberg and got taken by surprise. I could see this getting a third match at Wrestlemania, although I doubt it’ll be as surprising or momentous as this showdown. If nothing else, at the very least this match was better than their Wrestlemania XX showdown.
