WWE Summerslam 2016 Results: Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton, Jon Stewart Appears, More

WWE Summerslam 2016 is here, and it’s boasting a packed card!

In the main event, Randy Orton takes on Brock Lesnar in a match 15 years in the making! Meanwhile, Dean Ambrose defends the WWE championship against Dolph Ziggler, and Finn Balor takes on Seth Rollins to determine the first-ever WWE Universal Champion. In other matches, Rusev defends the United States championship against Roman Reigns, Women’s champion Sasha Banks defends against the former champion Charlotte, The Miz defends the Intercontinental championship against Apollo Crews, and The New Day defends the tag team titles against The Club. And this is without even getting into some of the big grudges due to be settled, such as AJ Styles vs. John Cena.

-American Alpha, The Hype Bros and The Usos defeated Breezango, The Ascension and The Vaudevillains in a 12-man tag team match.

-Sami Zayn and Neville defeated The Dudley Boyz.

-Sheamus defeated Cesaro in the first match of their best of seven series.

Main Card

-Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens defeated Enzo Amore and Big Cass with a Pop-up Codebreaker on Enzo.

-Charlotte defeated WWE Women’s champion Sasha Banks to regain the title after reversing the Bank Statement into a pinfall.

-Intercontinental champion The Miz (with Maryse) defeated Apollo Crews with the Skull Crushing Finale to retain the title.

-AJ Styles defeated John Cena with a Styles Clash followed by a Phenomenal Forearm.

-Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson defeated WWE tag team champions The New Day (with Jon Stewart) by disqualification after Big E interfered to save Stewart.

-WWE champion Dean Ambrose defeated Dolph Ziggler with the Dirty Deeds to retains the title.

-Natalya, Alexa Bliss and a returning Nikki Bella (subbing for the suspended Eva Marie) defeated Carmella, Becky Lynch and Naomi after Nikki hit a TKO (fireman’s carry into diamond cutter) on Carmella.

-Finn Balor defeated Seth Rollins to become the first-ever WWE Universal Champion after hitting the Coup de Grace.

-Roman Reigns and United States Champion Rusev went to a no-contest after a brawl broke out between the two men at ringside. Reigns left Rusev injured, and the doctor ruled that Rusev could not compete. Reigns hit a spear on Rusev and posed to the crowd to end the segment.

-Brock Lesnar defeated Randy Orton via TKO after mounting Orton and assaulting him with punches, forearms and elbows, until the referee stopped the match from sheer blood loss. Smackdown Live commissioner Shane McMahon came out to tend to Orton, and received an F-5 from Lesnar to close the show.
