Woman Killed In Car Crash After ‘American Idol’ Audition
Auditions for American Idol 15 are off to a tragic start, as one woman was killed and five others were injured in a car crash on Sunday night in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, after American Idol auditions in Philadelphia.
Natasha Bellott, a 20-year-old resident of Bloomfield, N.J., was killed when her vehicle was overturned while heading southbound on I-95. Three of the car’s occupants were ejected, causing head trauma, fractured ribs, and other injuries.
Bellott had been on her way back from American Idol auditions at Temple University in Philly, and while it’s unknown how far she advanced in the competition, police report that she still had her American Idol ticket in her pocket at the time her body was found. Just a sad, sad story. Further details from Philly Voice:
Three other victims were identified. Leslie McCoy, 19, of Monclair, N.J., is hospitalized at St. Mary Medical Center with a head injury and fractured ribs.
Carl Delpolito, 24, of Bloomfield, N.J., and Jacob Gorski, 18, of East Orange, N.J., were being treated at Capital Health Hospital in Trenton. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The names of the female driver, 17, from Belleville, N.J., and female passenger, 16, from Bloomfield, N.J., were not released. The two were also being treated at Capital Health for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are pursuing an investigation to discover the exact cause of the crash. Regardless of the cause, this is a tragedy, and our hearts go out to Bellott’s family and friends.
