Wilmer Valderrama Joins FOX’s ‘Minority Report’ Pilot

Wilmer Valderrama has been missing from network TV as of late, but he’s apparently returning to prominence on FOX, the network that gave him his big break with That 70’s Show.

Valderrama is joining the cast of the upcoming, hotly-anticipated Minority Report pilot the network is working on. Based on Steven Spielberg’s 2002 film of the same name, which starred Tom Cruise in the lead role, Minority Report centered on a specialized police department known as the PreCrime division, which apprehends criminals before they’ve committed their crimes using visions delivered by three precognitive psychics known as “precogs”.

This pilot picks up 10 years after the film, as the PreCrime division has been disbanded. The story centers on a precog who continues to have visions, and a detective who is similarly haunted by her own past. Meagan Good will play the detective, while Stark Sands will play the twin precogs. However, it’s unknown just yet what role Valderrama will play. Valderrama currently stars on the From Dusk Till Dawn series on the El Rey network, although he’d presumably leave that series if Minority Report is picked up.

What do you think of the project? Is it a good idea for a series? Or will this be another quickly-canceled show, a la Almost Human? Sound off in the comments!
