Who Is The Bachelor 2017? Producer Mike Fleiss Teases Adele Clue

Producer Mike Fleiss is sticking to his promise to release new hints regularly about the identity of The Bachelor 2017 until the announcement is finally made. So what was the latest hint?

Fleiss took to Twitter to make a reference to Adele as the next clue:

This is probably the most frustratingly vague clue yet, particularly if it’s a reference to the lyrics of the song, since Adele’s version shares the lyrics of Bob Dylan’s original. And the lyrics could reference just about anyone who’s ever made a heartfelt declaration on The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, or Bachelor In Paradise. The lyrics:

When the rain is blowing in your face
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace
To make you feel my love

When the evening shadows and the stars appear
And there is no one there to dry your tears
I could hold you for a million years
To make you feel my love

I know you haven’t made your mind up yet
But I would never do you wrong
I’ve known it from the moment that we met
No doubt in my mind where you belong

I’d go hungry, I’d go black and blue
I’d go crawling down the avenue
There’s nothing that I wouldn’t do
To make you feel my love

The storms are raging on the rollin’ sea
And on the highway of regret
The winds of change are blowing wild and free
You ain’t seen nothing like me yet

I could make you happy, make your dreams come true
Nothing that I wouldn’t do
Go to the ends of the earth for you
To make you feel my love

Perhaps the “You ain’t seen nothing like me yet” could be a reference to The Bachelor being someone completely new. But then, why even give hints at all if the new Bachelor is someone we’ve never met?

The other clues: he likes sunrises more than sunsets, he makes a mean tuna casserole, he can run a mile in less than six minutes, and apparently he has something to do with a clay sculpture of Yoda from Star Wars, which Fleiss posted. There was also apparently a clue just before the third commercial break of Monday night’s episode of Bachelor In Paradise. If I recall correctly, it had to do with one of the twins crying about being dumped by Jared, although I’m not sure how that relates to the new Bachelor. The Yoda sculpture would suggest it’s Luke Pell (with Star Wars referencing Luke Skywalker), but the other clues point towards Nick Viall, since he set records in college for running, tuna casserole is one of the signature dishes of his hometown of Waukesha, WI, according to fans. And he had a wonderful sunrise waking up next to two separate Bachelorettes in the Fantasy Suite, only to be dumped by each one at the Final Rose ceremony at sunset.

And yet, I’m really not sure Fleiss would go with Viall. He seems like the type of guy to go with the safe option, and Luke seems as safe a bet as The Bachelor franchise has ever had. Of course, the cynic in me thinks he has no loving idea who The Bachelor will be yet, and simply threw out a bunch of hints on Twitter to see which way the wind is blowing, in terms of fan interest. But then why not just ask the fans outright who they’d like to see as The Bachelor? It doesn’t HAVE to be someone from the most recent Bachelorette season, as evidenced by Brad Womack getting to be The Bachelor twice, to say nothing of the early seasons, when each new Bachelor/Bachelorette was someone new.

Here’s hoping the announcement comes soon, because the wait just feels like it’s getting longer.

But what do you think about the clues from Mike Fleiss? Who should be The Bachelor 2017? A familiar face or someone completely new? Sound off in the comments!
