‘The Walking Dead’ Preview: Watch the First Two Minutes of the Midseason Premiere (VIDEO)

AMC has released the first two minutes of The Walking Dead midseason premiere, and…well, spoilers ahoy!

The episode picks up in the aftermath of the dramatic midseason finale, as the group lost one of its own. As the first two minutes illustrate, in heartbreaking fashion, the group is still mourning the loss of that character, as the group buries her and reflects on their changing circumstances. In this case, Noah (Tyler James Williams) tells Rick (Andrew Lincoln) about the plans he had to seek out a safe zone in Richmond, Virginia, with Beth. It gives Rick and crew something to aim for, as they now have a new destination to reach, and it gives us an endpoint for the season, assuming the group actually gets there. At the very least, it seems Rick and co. are FINALLY leaving Georgia.

But what if the safe zone isn’t there anymore? Well, what else can they do?

The clip is brief, but it builds suspense for the second half of Season 5, as The Walking Dead is resetting itself with a new mission and new threats along the way. Get ready for Season 5B by checking out the first two minutes of the midseason premiere below, and watch the premiere when The Walking Dead returns on Sunday, February 8, at 9:00 PM ET on AMC (we’ll have a full recap and review up after the show).
