Vin Diesel Reveals Title, Release Date, Poster for ‘Fast 8’
Vin Diesel is getting the hype rolling on the next Fast and Furious movie, revealing the title for the new movie along with its official release date.
The title for the sequel to 2015’s record-smashing Furious 7 is (drumroll): Fast 8.
As for the release date, we haven’t been given the specific day, but Diesel revealed that the movie will hit theaters in April 2017, presumably with the aim of breaking its own record for highest-grossing debut in the history of the month of April, which Furious 7 achieved last year. We don’t know much about the story, but we do know that the principle members of the cast will return for the movie, while Straight Outta Compton helmer F. Gary Gray will direct the film. So yeah, not a whole lot to go on just yet, although the poster does give us a tiny bit of a window into what might be planned for the movie, as Diesel posted the promotional material to his Instagram page:
The poster for Fast 8 seems to indicate that at least part of the movie will take place in New York City, although rumors suggest that Universal is looking into filming in Cuba, now that the U.S. embargo against the country has been lifted. I suppose we’ll find out soon enough. But needless to say, it’s time to start getting hyped!
