‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ Trailer Shows Latest From Tina Fey (VIDEO)
Tina Fey is returning to TV comedy, but not as the star. Rather, she’s producing a brand new comedy for Netflix, a series that was originally intended for NBC’s midseason lineup for 2015 before the network ultimately passed on it.
The Office‘s Ellie Kemper stars in the title role as a woman who adjusts to life after spending 15 years in a doomsday cult. The cast includes Fey’s former 30 Rock castmate Jane Krakowski as the mother of the child for whom Kemper is nannying, while Tituss Burgess stars as Kemper’s roommate in a New York City apartment.
The show is already renewed for a second season before even premiering, so it’s clear Netflix has a LOT of confidence in the show. If nothing else, it’s a testament to Fey’s credibility, as she’ll be executive-producing the series alongside her 30 Rock team of Robert Carlock, Jack Burditt, David Miner and husband Jeff Richmond.
The 13-episode first season of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt doesn’t premiere until March 6, but you can watch the full premiere trailer below:
