UFC 196 Promo Is Awesome, But Likely to Annoy Conor McGregor (VIDEO)
UFC 196 is right around the corner, as Conor McGregor prepares to go one-on-one with Rafael dos Anjos. The latest promo for the big event hypes the champion vs. champion bout, but it appears McGregor’s complaints about how the event has been promoted have fallen on deaf ears, since the current Featherweight champ is still being depicted without his belt.
In the first pre-fight press conference for the fight, McGregor complained that dos Anjos was the only champion depicted with his belt in the poster and the fight graphic, which he felt was “garbage”. Of course, the explanation is that, despite McGregor being the current UFC Featherweight champion, the company likely doesn’t want to give the impression that this bout is title-for-title, since only dos Anjos’s Lightweight championship is on the line. Perhaps this is why this latest promo still does not depict McGregor with his belt in the official fight graphic.
UFC 196: dos Anjos vs. McGregor, co-headlined by a bantamweight title fight between Holly Holm and Miesha Tate, will be held live on March 5 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Until then, get hyped by watching the latest promo video below:
