‘True Detective’ Season 2 Trailer Is Finally Here (VIDEO)

The trailer for True Detective Season 2 is finally here, and it offers a lot of the same brooding mystique of Season 1, albeit in a different setting than the Louisiana terrain of last season. This season will be set in California, and will once again focus on (what else?) a homicide, although it’s likely the killing will have much farther-reaching implications.

The video features Colin Farrell as Ray Velcoro, looking haggard and positively weathered by the circumstances. Granted, we don’t exactly know what those circumstances entail, but they seem every bit as troubling as the problems face by Rust and Marty last season. Vince Vaughn plays the role of Frank Semyon, looking quite dapper in his part, while Taylor Kitsch seems constantly on edge, for one reason or another. Kelly Reilly and Rachel McAdams round out the cast, which is among the more impressive this season. Seriously, I don’t need to know a whole lot about this season to get excited for it.
