‘Tough Enough’ Finalist Mada Leaves WWE

Mada Abdelhamid was one of the more memorable finalists from the most recent season of Tough Enough two years ago. However, since being signed to a developmental deal after the show ended, Mada has yet to appear in NXT or the main roster. So it’s not surprise to learn that the physically imposing wrestler has decided to leave WWE.

In an Instagram post, Mada explained the difficult decision, and why he felt he had to go. Ultimately, it boils down to doing what’s best for his family, and for himself: “WWE Universe, I have recently made a tough decision and I have asked for my release from the WWE! It’s been one hell of a journey since I started on Tough Enough… But I had to make a decision to do what’s best for my family, and for myself. I wanted to thank you for your love and support… I have nothing but love for the WWE universe, you guys are AWESOME!!! It’s time to start the next chapter of my life, and I’m excited to announce some big news with you all soon ?? #Blessed I love you guys!!! Mada #NextChapter”.

I think if Mada spends some time on the indies or overseas developing his craft, and maybe building a name and a following, WWE would gladly take him back and fast-track him to NXT or the main roster. I think the issue is that they have so many guys in developmental, using a system that doesn’t really help to develop guys from the ground up, since they spend half their day running drills rather than having actual matches. And when you have class sizes with dozens of guys, it can be hard to get your ring time in. Granted, Mada didn’t speak up about any frustration with his time in the Performance Center, but asking for your release speaks volumes. Hopefully, he finds happiness in whatever he does next.

But what do you think about the release of Mada? Sound off in the comments!
