TLC May Not Cancel ’19 Kids And Counting’ And Just Fire Josh Duggar For Molesting His Sisters
TLC has pulled all episodes of 19 Kids and Counting after the Duggars admitted that their eldest son Josh Duggar was a child molester when he was a teenager.
According to a report from TMZ, TLC is mulling over canceling the show outright or just firing Josh Duggar instead and letting the show continue.
TLC inexplicably ran a marathon of 19 Kids and Counting when news of Josh Duggar molesting girls including his sisters surfaced this week. It was only when a major advertiser, General Mills, pulled out that TLC removed the episodes from the air.
The network is said to be looking for a “middle ground” as evangelicals have stood by the Duggars despite Josh Duggar publicly acknowledging that he was a child molester.
Josh Duggar has resigned from the anti-gay lobbying firm Family Research Council but presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has stood by Josh writing on Facebook:
“Josh’s actions when he was an underage teen are as he described them himself, ‘inexcusable,’ but that doesn’t mean ‘unforgivable.’ Being a minor means that one’s judgment is not mature.”
The hypocrisy of course is that the Duggars have known of the child molestation involving their family for 12 years, and Josh Duggar was part of an organization actively calling homosexuals a “danger to society” because they are prone to pedophilia.
TLC canceled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo when it was reported that Mama June was dating the child molester of her daughter. I’m surprised that TLC is waffling on this one. Perhaps because there were no charges filed against Josh Duggar – stemming from the fact that the family didn’t report it to police and when the police found out the statute of limitations had already run out – or because maybe TLC is run by a bunch of hypocrites?
TLC should be more like Oprah Winfrey who canceled the Duggars’ appearance on her show when she was tipped of the child molestation charges back in 2006. Her staff even forwarded the tip to police.
