This Robin Williams Impression Is as Touching as It Is Uncanny (VIDEO)
It’s been almost a year since Robin Williams tragically died, but his loss is felt no less than it was eight months ago. Yet his memory carries on through his fans, such as actor Jamie Costa, who offered a poignant tribute to the Oscar winner through one of the best, most spot-on impressions you’ll ever see.
Costa uploaded the video to YouTube on Monday, and it quickly went viral, as the tribute features Costa doing amazing impressions of the best-known characters in the Robin Williams filmography. Titled “Never Had a Friend Like Him,” the two-minute video features impressions from Aladdin, Mrs. Doubtfire, Good Will Hunting, Mork & Mindy, Dead Poets Society, The Fisher King, Good Morning Vietnam, Flubber, Jack, Hook, Popeye, Jumanji, Night at the Museum and more.
Clear two minutes out of your schedule and watch “Never Had a Friend Like Him” below. It’s totally worth it:
Of course, as you can see, it’s more than just a series of good impressions, as Costa actually looks like a young Robin Williams too. Seriously, it’s uncanny. Costa is insanely talented, this video stands as testament to that. Yet it’s also a touching tribute, as the video’s caption reads: “My tribute to the man whose spark ignited my passion. RIP Robin Williams.”
It’s clear that Williams had an effect on a lot of young actors, and it’s encouraging to see his influence carry on into future generations. If nothing else, it’s great to see that Williams’s comedic talents are embodied in a guy like Costa, whose official Vine account features a wide variety of impressions such as Jack Nicholson, Matthew McConaughey, Johnny Depp, and Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump talking about former One Direction singer Zayn Malik. It’s great stuff that’s worth checking out, but just make sure you check out “Never Had a Friend Like Him” too. So awesome.
