The X Factor UK 2016: Top 12 Partial Song Spoilers Revealed

The Top 12 have been revealed for the live shows on The X Factor UK 2016, and while this just might be the most controversial Top 12 we’ve ever had, it appears Simon Cowell and co. aren’t allowing a redo on their choices. So now that the Top 12 is locked in, what will they be singing?

Well, we don’t know the songs everyone will be doing, but we do have spoilers for nine out of the Top 12 acts. While I don’t necessarily love all these song choices, I don’t think any of these song choices are disastrous for their act. In fact, we could be in for a surprisingly solid show. Maybe not all hope is lost on this season, especially if the first live show of the season delivers. Here’s hoping for a great show.

So who will be singing what? Check out the spoilers below:

Brooks Way, “Cake By the Ocean” by DNCE
5 After Midnight, “OMG” by Usher

So there you have it. Depending on the arrangements, I think “Toxic” and “Shake It Off” could lead to serious moments for Emily and Samantha, respectively. And “That’s My Girl” is a note-perfect song choice for Gifty, so good work on that one, Simon (gotta shout out his X Factor USA girls!). I’m also really looking forward to seeing Matt tackle “You Don’t Own Me”, since there are plenty of moments where his voice could shine. And while it’s not the song I would have picked, I have every expectation that 5 After Midnight will slay “OMG”. I’m considerably less certain about Saara, since “Let It Go” is painfully overdone. I’m sure she’ll sing it well, but I don’t get the sense she’s really even all that popular. And in situations like those, the song choice matters even more than usual. Of course, most people have taken it as given that Sharon doesn’t have any idea what she’s doing this season, what with her putting Honey G through to the live shows. But I guess we’ll see if there’s a method to her madness.
