The X Factor UK 2016 Results: Who Went Home In Week 3? (VIDEO)

The X Factor UK 2016 results are live, as we discover who went home in Week 3 of the competition.

The theme this week was Divas, and some acts certainly stepped it up more than others. After two weeks in the sing-off, I thought Saara Aalto really brought it this week, to such an extent that I think it would be especially egregious if she were at risk again this week. I also thought this was a terrific week for Emily Middlemas and Gifty Louise, while Matt Terry was as dependable as always. Unfortunately, some others acts stumbled a bit this week. I feel like Ryan Lawrie could be in trouble after his performance, and I felt this was the weakest live show so far for both Sam Lavery and 5 After Midnight. But I guess we’ll see how the votes play out, as the Bottom 3 will be revealed by host Dermot O’Leary, and then the public will get to save one act from the sing-off using the Lifeline Vote through The X Factor app. It’s all so exciting!

But who went home this week? Get the results below:

The first act returning next week is…SAM LAVERY!

The second act returning next week is…5 AFTER MIDNIGHT!

The third act returning next week is…SAARA AALTO!

The fourth act returning next week is…MATT TERRY!

The fifth act returning next week is…EMILY MIDDLEMAS!

The sixth act returning next week is…HONEY G!

The seventh and final act definitely returning next week is…GIFTY LOUISE!

I really can’t say I’m surprised with this Bottom Three, although it’ll be interesting to see who gets saved. You’d think Ryan because he’s one of the season’s heartthrobs, but I think Relley C might earn a groundswell of support for the save. Either way, I’m fairly confident Four of Diamonds lands in the sing-off. That said, it says a lot about the relatively unsurprising nature of this Bottom Three that the biggest story coming out of this is Dermot apologizing to the home audience for Sam dropping an F-bomb after she was declared safe.

-Ryan, Relley and Four of Diamonds join Dermot onstage for the results. There were 1.7 million lifeline votes. The results…

RELLEY C and FOUR OF DIAMONDS will battle it out in the Sing-Off!

From the reaction on his face, it seemed even Ryan knew how messed up this result was. But, to be fair to Ryan, I think he actually did a better job last night than Four of Diamonds. That said, they need to stop doing these “Save a contestant the night of the results show” twists and just let the votes from the night before speak for themselves.

Relley C sings “I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bonnie Raitt, and it’s a bit on the iffy side to start. It’s clear that Relley is still recovering from her illness, but she takes on a fighter’s attitude with the song. And I like that. It makes Relley easy to root for, because it’s clear how much she wants this. With that said, I think it’s equally clear that Four of Diamonds wants this as well, and it’d be doubly heartbreaking for them to come back only to be eliminated a week later. But I think this vocal is pretty strong, in spite of Relley’s nerves and illness, so Four of Diamonds is going to have to bring it.

-Four of Diamonds sings “Who Are You” by Fifth Harmony, and I was genuinely impressed by this. Their harmonies were really on-point, and a passionate side came through here that I don’t think we’ve seen from these girls yet. I actually think this was a better performance than Relley gave. Hers might have been more emotional and inspired, but this went a long way in showing me that these girls still have serious, untapped potential. I could easily see this going to deadlock, in which case, I think the girls might have a chance at sticking around.

Nicole Scherzinger votes to send home Relley C!

RELLEY C is eliminated from THE X FACTOR UK 2016!

Relley C says she was overjoyed to make it to the first live show, and while she wished she could have done more, she is happy with what she has accomplished. She admitted she almost gave up on music altogether, but she didn’t, and it brought her here. Sharon is convinced we’ll see Relley again. Here’s hoping she’s right.

I can’t disagree with the result, although I am surprised it was a sweep for Four of Diamonds, since I really thought this would end up going to deadlock. That said, this needs to be the last week for the Lifeline Vote. It really accomplishes nothing except giving people with a smartphone app way too much power over everyone else.

After the result, we learned next week’s theme from The X Factor Jukebox: FRIGHT NIGHT!

So we’re getting the perfect Halloween theme for Halloweekend! Also, Bruno Mars and Louisa Johnson will perform on next week’s results show!
