The X Factor UK 2016 Finale Results: Who Finished In Third Place? (VIDEO)

The X Factor UK 2016 finale is here! It’s all come down to Matt Terry, representing the boys for judge Nicole Scherzinger; Saara Aalto, representing the Over 25s for judge Sharon Osbourne; and 5 After Midnight, representing the Groups for judge Louis Walsh. Oh, and Simon Cowell is here too, I guess. But who finished the competition in third place?

The results were revealed at the end of tonight’s performance show, which featured performances from Louis Tomlinson and Steve Aoki (“Just Hold On”), The Weeknd (“Can’t Feel My Face”/”Starboy”), The X Factor Top 12 finalists, and several celebrity duets. Matt Terry performed “Purple Rain” with mentor Nicole Scherzinger, Saara Aalto performed an epic rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” with The X Factor Australia 2016 judge Adam Lambert, and 5 After Midnight sang “Tears” with Clean Bandit and X Factor UK 2015 winner Louisa Johnson. This, in addition to the competitive performances, such as Matt’s take on “Take Me Home” by Jess Glynne, Saara’s version of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”, and 5 After Midnight’s rendition of “Crazy In Love” by Beyonce and Jay Z.

Dermot O’Leary revealed the results of the public vote.

MATT TERRY advances to the Final Two!

SAARA AALTO advances to the Final Two!

5 AFTER MIDNIGHT is eliminated from THE X FACTOR UK 2016!

I can’t say I’m shocked by this result, as Saara has gained considerable momentum over the last month, and Matt likely received a huge voting bump after his Bottom 2 scare last week. But will it be enough to push him across the finish line, or will Saara Aalto become the first person to win The X Factor UK after having appeared in the Bottom 2 more than once? Either way, tomorrow night’s results show will make history, as we’ll be crowning only the second person to ever appear in the Bottom 2 and win The X Factor, after James Arthur.

What do you think of the result? Sound off in the comments!
