The X Factor UK 2015 is inching closer to Judges' Houses with the latest round of the Six-Chair Challenge, the most pulse-pounding, anxiety-inducing part of the competition yet (for both judges AND contestants!).
Tonight's show was arguably even crazier than last week's, as we got one contestant disappointing the judges (Jordan Luke Gage), one contestant surprising the judges (Ben Clark), one contestant stunning the judges (Seann Miley Moore) and one contestant infuriating the judges (Mason Noise), who earned a strong rebuke from Simon Cowell following the contestant's spiteful outburst. This is without even getting into the outrage that ensued when Nick Grimshaw eliminated Tom Bleasby and gave his seat to dark horse contestant Ben Clark. The crowd was furious, leaving Nick with little choice but to bring Tom back. The drama continued, as Nick had what he thought was a perfect six, until Che Chesterman came onstage and gave one of the best performances of the season.
But that wasn't all, as Cheryl Fernandez-Versini started filling out her groups with part one of her Six-Chair Challenge! So which Boys and Groups survived the Six-Chair Challenge? Get the full results (and watch the performance videos!) below:Credit: ITV
THE X FACTOR 2015 SIX-CHAIR CHALLENGE RESULTS: BOYS (MENTORED BY NICK GRIMSHAW)
SEANN MILEY MOORE
Eliminated: Brodie Kelly, Danny Sharples, Jamie Eldridge, Jordan Luke Gage, Martin Harich, Mason Noise, Nathaniel Landskroner, Ollie Marland, Papasidero, Tom Davies
Thoughts: I actually think Nick is neck-and-neck with Rita for the strongest category. He has an amazing final six, and while I think he'll have to fight tooth and nail with Rita to secure the win, he's got a real chance at winning this thing on his first season as a judge. Seriously, how about that? The two first-time judges have the best opportunity of winning. Of course, this all depends on which three acts Rita and Nick end up taking with them to live shows, but it's going to be REALLY hard for them to make a wrong choice, considering the strength of their respective categories.Credit: ITV
CHERYL FERNANDEZ-VERSINI'S GROUPS: TO BE CONTINUED NEXT WEEKEND...
MENN ON POINT
RUMOUR HAS IT
THE FIRST KINGS
Thoughts: I actually like most of these choices, although I can't say I'm crazy about them either, beyond Alien, Menn On Point, and 4th Power. I think Mon Amie is swap fodder, while Rumour Has It doesn't seem long for this competition either. I feel Cheryl believes she has a far stronger category than she actually has. But this should make things easier for Cheryl, far easier for her than for the other judges, since I think her live show picks will be clear. Maybe she'll struggle to pick between Alien and 4th Power to avoid splitting votes between girl groups, but I think she should take a chance and bring both. As for the last group, any of The First Kings, BEKLN or Menn On Point should round out the category, in my opinion. I'll be interested to see how the rest of the category pans out next Sunday, since we're only half through.
But what did you think of the choices for the Six-Chair Challenge? Sound off in the comments!
