The X Factor Australia 2016 Results: Shocking Girl Group Showdown In Week 2 (VIDEO)

We’re only on Week 2 of the live shows on The X Factor Australia 2016, and we’ve already got ourselves yet another elimination shocker to match last week’s surprising ouster of Natalie Ong.

This week, the acts performed songs of their choice to illustrate the type of artist they are. There were some interesting highs on the show, particularly for Guy Sebastian’s Over 22s, as Davey Woder delivered an emotional performance with Ed Sheeran’s “Small Bump”, and Chynna Taylor slayed “Pride (In the Name of Love)”. Meanwhile, the Under 22s had a solid showing as well, with Amalia Foy taking on the Madonna hit “Frozen”, and Isaiah Firebrace closing the show with “Let It Be”. However, the bottom 2 ultimately ended up being a showdown between the two girl groups in the competition, in a bit of a repeat of the Three-Seat Challenge: Beatz and AYA.

Beatz sang “Bang Bang” in their sing-off performance, in what’s becoming a go-to number for girl groups on the show, and with good reason. It offered each of the girls moments to showcase their range and more. Of course, you could say the same about AYA’s choice of “Domino”. Hell, I thought this was AYA’s best performance. But was it enough to keep them in the competition? Get the results below:
