The X Factor Australia 2015: Final Four Fight for Spot in Grand Final (VIDEO)
It’s time for the semifinals on The X Factor Australia 2015, as the final four took to the stage to duke it out for a spot in next week’s grand final! The theme is “Killer Tracks and Curveballs”, and the night featured each act performing two songs apiece for the first time this season!
Even after the losses of acts like Natalie Conway and Mahalia Simpson, I still think this is basically the perfect final four. This was a fantastic show with everyone performing at his or her A-game. Granted, some singers did better than others, but I wouldn’t say anyone was bad tonight. In fact, this was one of the strongest final four shows in recent X Factor Australia history, in my opinion. I think I’d have to go back to Season 3 to remember a final four show I liked this much. Ultimately, it’s hard to know which three acts will make the Grand Final, as Australia has a pretty big choice ahead of them. I genuinely feel as though the only person who’s definitely safe is Cyrus. And even then, I can’t be 100% sure in a season that’s been this close.
But what do you think of The X Factor Australia 2015 Final Four? Watch all the performances below:
THE X FACTOR AUSTRALIA 2015: FINAL FOUR SEMIFINALS – KILLER TRACKS AND CURVEBALLS
BIG T, “MARVIN GAYE”
JESS & MATT, “NEED YOU NOW”
LOUISE ADAMS, “AIN’T NO SUNSHINE”
CYRUS VILLANUEVA, “DON’T”
BIG T, “A WHITER SHADE OF PALE”
JESS & MATT, “I WAS MAD FOR LOVIN’ YOU”
LOUISE ADAMS, “BLAME IT ON ME”
CYRUS VILLANUEVA, “IN THE AIR TONIGHT”
Thoughts: I can’t even pretend to know who’s going home this week. Conventional wisdom would seem to suggest that Jess & Matt would be the most at-risk, since they’ve been in the Bottom 2 more than anyone else left in the competition. Then again, Samantha Jade was in the Bottom 2 more than anyone else in the competition at this same point, and she went on to win the whole show. I can’t imagine Cyrus or Louise finding themselves at risk, so I guess it’s between Big T and Jess & Matt. If it were up to me, it’d be the end of the road for Big T, who honestly did an amazing job tonight, but who I enjoy less than the other three acts. But I think it might finally be it for Jess & Matt, who had a good night but not the blowaway they probably needed to stick around. Regardless, whoever ends up going home should hold his/her head up high, because this was an awesome show for all the remaining acts in the competition.
