‘The Voice’ Winner Jordan Smith To Perform at People’s Choice Awards 2016
The Voice winner Jordan Smith will be performing at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards this Wednesday alongside one of the most legendary figures in music history.
This Wednesday night, on the live telecast on CBS, Smith will take the stage alongside 16-time Grammy award-winning record producer/musician David Foster.
“Just confirmed Jordan Smith performing, accompanied by David Foster on piano,” said PCA producer Mark Burnett, in a statement to PEOPLE. “They’re in the studio now working on his album together.”
According to Burnett, Smith and Foster are “literally going to come in from the recording studio on the stage before they get back to work.”
In addition to his major PCA performance, Smith recently got engaged to girlfriend Kristen Denny, which had Burnett buzzing.
“He’s just thrilled to have gone home as the winner and gotten engaged to his sweetheart,” said Burnett said, who also produces The Voice, which won the Emmy this past year for Outstanding Reality Competition Program. “He’s been really, really honored in his hometown. I’m thrilled!”
Jane Lynch will host the 2016 People’s Choice Awards, live on Wednesday, Jan. 6 on CBS.
