‘The Voice of the Philippines’ Will Air Teen Edition In 2017
The Voice of the Philippines is the latest series in The Voice franchise to explore a season solely comprised of contestants in a certain age group.
The announcement is now official: The Voice of Philippines will return in 2017 with a teen edition. Contestants must be between the ages of 13 and 17, however, as all contestants 18 and over will have to compete with the grown-ups. Auditions for the new season will begin on January 14 in Quezon City, and continue on January 14 and January 15 in Tacloban, Leyte.
Believe it or not, out of the five competitions The Voice franchise has aired in the Philippines so far, there have been more youth-oriented seasons than traditional seasons: The Voice Kids has three seasons under its belt, and this teen edition will make for the fourth youth-oriented season, versus two seasons each of a traditional season of The Voice.
No word on who the coaches will be for this season, but previous seasons featured Lea Salonga, apl.de.ap of The Black Eyed Peas, Bamboo Manalac, Sarah Geronimo, Sharon Cuneta.
