The Voice iTunes Charts: Amy Vachal Leads at #4, Jordan Smith Lands at #8

The latest iTunes charts are in following The Voice 9 Top 11 show, and it appears that everything is coming up roses for Team Adam!

The only two artists to crack the Top 10 on the iTunes Top 100 overall singles were Team Adam’s Amy Vachal and Jordan Smith. In a bit of a surprise, considering Jordan’s meteoric rise to frontrunner status in this competition, Amy Vachal was the highest-ranked performer of the night, coming in at No. 4 with her awesome version of Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space”. It was a deserving ranking considering just how wonderfully inventive the cover was, as it proved to be one of the highlights of the live show.

However, Jordan Smith wasn’t far behind his teammate, coming in at No. 8 with his emotional cover of Jessie J’s “Who You Are”. It was a performance that had Jordan fighting back tears, and Adam declaring that his artist was one of the best performers he’s ever met. While not as great as his previous two performances in the live shows, I felt like Jordan is among the most consistent acts in the competition, and his constant Top 10 rankings, much like Amy’s top placement this week, are well-deserved.

With that said, it wasn’t entirely the Team Adam Show: Emily Ann Roberts was the standout for Team Blake, coming in at No. 11 with her fun take on “Why Not Me” by The Judds. Hot on her heels is Team Pharrell’s Madi Davis, who ranked at No. 15 with her haunting take on U2’s “Love Is Blindness”.

In a bit of surprise, show-closer Jeffery Austin finished at No. 27 with his stunning take on Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own”, which brought coach Gwen Stefani to tears. The Team Gwen crooner is right up there with Jordan as one of the most consistent performers of the season, and he was a Top 10 iTunes performer just last week, so I’m not sure what the disconnect is between Jeffery and the voters. Granted, he’s still almost certain to be safe, along with Team Blake’s Barrett Baber, who finished at No. 30 this week with his high-energy rendition of Tanya Tucker’s “Delta Dawn”.
