The Voice 2016 Recap: The Top 11 Perform For Your Votes (VIDEO)

The Voice 2016 is live tonight as the Top 11 perform for your votes! But how did the Top 11 do?

After last week’s elimination of Sa’Rayah, it feels like just about anyone could be the next to leave. Aaron Gibson was able to hang on thanks to The Voice Instant Save, so it’s not surprising to learn that Miley Cyrus is giving him a dark, memorable, haunting song to possibly propel him into the Top 10 without needing to compete in a Bottom 2 sing-off. For what it’s worth, however, this still feels a bit like Billy Gilman’s competition to lose. With Adam Levine giving him an Adele song to tackle this week, it seems he knows where Billy’s strengths are, namely in the big belting numbers. On that subject, Courtney Harrell has been given one of my favorite songs, a classic Broadway belter. With any luck, she’ll be able to do better this week on iTunes than she did last week. That said, iTunes sales were kind of sluggish for everyone last week. Maybe as enthusiasm builds for the season, the sales will too. Or maybe the enthusiasm has already peaked. It seems a lot of people expect Billy Gilman to win this with no problem, which is why enthusiasm might feel lower than in season’s past. Then again, there have been “predictable” seasons in the past that had surprise winners. I mean, I don’t know that anyone expected Jermaine Paul or Craig Wayne David to pull out the win. I guess we’ll find out in the weeks to come.

For a recap of the Top 11 performance show, I’ll be posting the videos of each performance below once they become available. Until then, feel free to discuss the show in the comments, and click on the performer/song names to download the song on iTunes!
