The Voice 2016 iTunes Charts: Billy Gilman Finally Hits #1, Sundance Head At #2

The Voice 2016 is coming down to the wire, as the iTunes charts for the semifinals reveal a pretty damn close race for the title, as last week’s #1 artist has been unseated by the man who’s been considered the frontrunner for the win since Day 1!

That’s right, Team Adam’s Billy Gilman has finally hit #1 with his version of Celine Dion’s “I Surrender”, pushing past Team Blake’s Sundance Head, who falls to #2 with “Love Can Build A Bridge” by The Judds. Of course, they’re not the only two artists in the Top 10 on iTunes, as Team Adam’s Josh Gallagher made his highest chart showing with a song that was a hit for The Swon Brothers back in Season 4, “Danny’s Song” by Loggins and Messina. With his rendition, Josh landed at #5. He was immediately followed by Team Alicia’s powerhouse Christian Cuevas, who comes in at #6 with Israel Houghton’s “To Worship You I Live (Away)”.

Although these first four artists were the only ones to crack the Top 10 this week, it wasn’t that steep of a drop to find the next artist on the iTunes Top 100 singles chart: Team Adam’s Brendan Fletcher just narrowly missed out on a Top 10 vote multiplier, landing at #11 with his rendition of “Angel” by Sarah McLachlan. Next is Team Alicia’s We McDonald, who reaches #13 with Alessia Cara’s “Scars To Your Beautiful”.

Team Miley is represented at #16 by Ali Caldwell, who charts with Whitney Houston’s version of the Dolly Parton classic “I Will Always Love You”. Thirty-three spots down from there is Miley’s other team member, Aaron Gibson, who charts the lowest this week with his version of “(Everything I Do) I Do it for You” by Bryan Adams. With four acts going home, iTunes rankings arguably mean more now than ever, so this isn’t exactly great for Aaron. That is, unless he can somehow survive the sing-off and earn the Instant Save for an unprecedented fourth consecutive week.

But will the iTunes rankings accurately reflect the results this week? Or are we in for a surprise? Check out the full rankings below:
