‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl’ Are Having a Crossover Episode

Despite being on separate networks, The Flash and Supergirl share a TV universe, due in large part to both series being under the purview of producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg. But there was doubt that there would ever be a crossover, since it’s kind of hard to get that type of episode off the ground when the shows are on different networks.

But apparently, it wasn’t impossible: A crossover between Supergirl and The Flash is happening!

Although we don’t know the details of the storyline that brings the two superheroes together, we do know that the crossover will air on Monday, March 28, as The Flash (Grant Gustin) visits the world of Supergirl.

“We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we starting making Supergirl,” said executive producers Berlanti and Kreisberg. “We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally, thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.”

This is awesome news, and it should help get more viewers into Supergirl, presuming they’re on the fence about getting started. I’m absolutely loving both Supergirl and The Flash, but I feel they’re a bit different aesthetically, just in terms of how both shows are shot. Supergirl has a bit of a glossier finish to it than The Flash, so it’ll be a bit strange to see The Flash in National City (ugh, still hate that name). But it won’t be an unwelcome sight at all.
