The Bachelorette 2016 Results: Final Two Revealed After Shocking Meltdown (VIDEO)
The results are in for The Bachelorette 2016 Episode 9, and we now know the final two for Season 12! But not before we witnessed a shocking meltdown from one of the most soft-spoken contestants this season!
We pick up from last week’s cliffhanger, as the final four men — Robby, Luke, Jordan and Chase — remain on puns and needles after Luke took JoJo aside prior to the Rose Ceremony to plead his case one last time. JoJo had initially expressed the desire to get rid of Luke, but did she follow through with that gut instinct? Or did Luke’s last-minute plea change JoJo’s mind? Who went home? And which contestant had the meltdown to end all meltdowns?
Check out the results below:
-So after the big cliffhanger, JoJo eliminates Luke anyway, pretty much clearing the path for him to become the next Bachelor. Luke is positively stunned, and feels like JoJo will never know what they could have had together. Naturally, JoJo is an absolute emotional wreck, stating that she doesn’t really know how to do this, and that she hates having to send people home. But hey, that’s the process, I guess.
-After Robby and Jordan have wonderful Fantasy Suite dates with JoJo, their status as the final two seems all but assured, particularly after Robby crashes by JoJo’s place prior to her date with Chase to reiterate how crazy he is about her. But that’s not the big shocker. Rather, the big surprise here is that, after Chase tells her he loves her, JoJo realizes she just doesn’t feel as strongly about Chase as he feels about her.
Ultimately, JoJo eliminates Chase during their dinner date, leading to a shocking meltdown. I say “shocking” because Chase has been the equivalent of beige wallpaper throughout most of this season, so he’s pretty much the last person I would have expected to lash out. Granted, I don’t exactly blame him, since he reiterates that JoJo knew how much it took out of him to be able to tell another person “I love you”. On the other hand, I don’t really blame JoJo either. What was she supposed to do, let him take her to the Fantasy Suite and then break it to him in the room while he’s searching for a condom to put on?
Chase just rips into JoJo about how she’s basically being inconsiderate, and how she clearly doesn’t feel anything for him if she could do this. But JoJo pleads with Chase not to say goodbye this way, that she really did have feelings for him, and she really did want this to work out. Eventually, she’s able to get a begrudging hug from Chase, but it’s not like he tells her they’re cool either. In the limo, Chase compares this to JoJo pulling down his pants and kicking him in the nuts, which is probably apt, since this happened on national television.
-But that wasn’t all for the twists, as Chase comes back at the Rose Ceremony! However, he doesn’t come to plea for his spot back. Rather, he returns to apologize for the way he acted, and to tell JoJo that he’s proud of her and he admires her. It’s a classy move on Chase’s part, although the cynic in me says he might be making a play for The Bachelor. Still, it was a nice little moment.
Anyway, it’s official: Robby Hayes and Jordan Rodgers are the final two on The Bachelorette 2016!
