‘The Bachelor’ Season 20 Reveal: And The Bachelor is…
The 20th season of The Bachelor begins in January 2016, but there’s been a lot of mystery surrounding the possibilities for the new season. Will it be Nick, the runner-up for the past two seasons of The Bachelorette? Will it be Ben H., the man who had his heart broken by Kaitlyn Bristowe? Will it be Josh Murray, the man who won Andi Dorfman’s season of The Bachelorette, only to later break her heart?
On tonight’s episode of Bachelor In Paradise: After Paradise, the big announcement was made for the watershed 20th season of one of ABC’s biggest franchises. Who is The Bachelor?
Well, without further adieu, The Bachelor is…
Yes, Ben H. from Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette is the new Bachelor, becoming the second third-place finisher in a row to get the nod after Chris Soules last year. I thought it was kind of silly for Chris Harrison to bring out Nick Viall just to try and trick people into thinking he was The Bachelor. It smacked of a comedy segment that just didn’t land. But it’s no big deal, really, since I think Ben H. was the foregone conclusion here, and anyone else would have been a shocker. Ultimately, I think it’ll be a bit of a dry season, considering I don’t think Ben is the wildest guy. Then again, I thought Kaitlyn’s season of The Bachelorette would be the same way, and I ended up being hilariously wrong on that score. So who knows? It largely depends on who they cast for the women, since I think this is the rare case where a Bachelor will about as young as the people they end up casting for him. Dude is only 26! I’ll be interested to see how this all turns out.
What do you think of the new Bachelor for 2016? Did ABC make the right choice? Will it be a good season or a hot mess? Sound off in the comments!
