‘Teen Wolf’ Renewed for Season 6, Mid-Season Trailer Premieres (VIDEO)

MTV has locked in one of its most popular shows!

Teen Wolf has been renewed for Season 6, an announcement that was made at San Diego Comic Con 2015. This is in keeping with the show’s renewal announcements, which tend to come at San Diego Comic Con.

“I knew the show was great. I never had expectations,” said series star Tyler Posey on the panel. It was at this point that series creator Jeff Davis confirmed that the show would be back for a sixth season, prompting a MASSIVE cheer from the crowd in attendance.

Although MTV has granted Teen Wolf a sixth season renewal, the show has actually suffered a bit in the ratings. The season five premiere was down from this same point last year, but the plus side is that it’s still delivering strong ratings for MTV in its time slot. The first two Monday night episodes this summer averaged a 0.8 rating in 18-34, and a 0.6 in adults 18-49. That adds up to roughly 1.45 million viewers overall in the nightly estimates. So while it isn’t as good as MTV would probably like it to be, it’s still leagues better than anything else MTV could probably put in that time slot.

But the renewal isn’t all the news to come out of San Diego Comic Con this year! The panel ended with the premiere of the mid-season trailer for Teen Wolf Season 5, which you can watch below:
