Taraji P. Henson Returning to ‘Person of Interest’

Taraji P. Henson is going back to her TV roots before kicking off filming on Empire Season 2.

Henson will return to Person of Interest as a guest star, reprising her role as Detective Joss Carter for the episode airing on April 14, EW confirms. This will be her first time on the series since the character was killed off in Season 3.

Henson was a regular on the cast when the show first premiere in 2011, and while it was a damn good role for her, I can’t help but be thrilled she left. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have Cookie Lyon. (Seriously, Empire wouldn’t be anywhere near the same show without Henson in the role)

Naturally, Henson’s guest-starring role on next Tuesday’s episode will be in flashbacks centering on a cold case that Carter was never able to solve. While Reese (Jim Caviezel) does his best to solve the homicide, it’s clear that Carter’s death is still affecting him, so expect a poignant, emotional hour of TV, at the very least. Honestly, I pretty much left the series when Henson did, but I might have to check back in for this.
