‘Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X’ Episode 6 Results: A Major Flip At Tribal!

Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X delivered a genuinely exciting tribal council for Episode 6, given the different directions the result could have taken. As it turns out, there was a major flip that essentially changed the game at the Takali Tribe.

Yes, while Jay managed to find a hidden immunity idol in full view of Will and Michaela, and Hannah suffered a panic attack at the reward challenge, the big story was that Takali lost the immunity challenge after losing a major lead in the reward challenge as well. And yet, morale was never really low at the Takali camp. If anything, Takali seemed like the coolest tribe, in temperament, as Taylor and Figgy finally went broken about their blossoming relationship. But leading up into tonight’s tribal council, Adam was stuck in the middle between two power duos: Taylor and Figgy (otherwise known as FigTails) and Ken/Jessica. Would Adam remain loyal to the Millennials or would he flip to the Gen X alliance on Ken’s promise to protect him?

Ken promised to fight for Adam if he voted with Ken and Jessica, in addition to promising never to write his name down. Meanwhile, Taylor issued a veiled threat, saying Adam would likely be on the chopping block at the merge if he flipped on the Millennials, since the Millennials are likely to have the numbers once the time comes. The five castaways voted, and Jeff Probst read off the results…

In her exit interview, Figgy wipes away her tears and talks about playing as hard as she could from the beginning. She’s certain she’ll meet with Taylor again, she just isn’t sure when that will be.

Ultimately, I think Adam made the right choice. He and Zeke were already on the bottom with the Millennials, and that threat from Taylor told me nothing was going to change once the merge came. The irony, of course, is that the preview for next week suggests that Zeke forms an alliance with David, which could have been an opening for Adam and Zeke to retake the numbers without having to burn FigTails. But that couple was going to need to be split sooner rather than later, and this was as good a time as any. So I don’t have a problem with the result.
