Stephen Curry Named AP Male Athlete of the Year 2015

NBA superstar Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors was named AP Male Athlete of the Year 2015 on Saturday. He totally deserved it!

Curry joined LeBron James, Michael Jordan and Larry Bird as the only basketball players to win the honor in the 85 years of the award.

He beat out golfer Jordan Spieth who won two majors (and placed within the top four in the two others) and horse American Pharoah who won the Triple Crown (the first since 1978).

Incidentally, according to the AP, American Pharoah got three more first place votes than Curry. But Curry appeared in more ballots and the horse wasn’t even considered by one-third of the U.S. editors and news directors who voted.
