Steph Curry Will Not Play In Rio Olympics, May Not Be Alone – Report
Warriors’s star Stephen Curry will not play in the 2016 Summper Olympics in Brazil and he’s probably not alone, according to a report from The San Jose Mercury News:
According to multiple sources, Curry has already told USA Basketball he will not be playing for a gold medal. He will instead let his right knee heal.
Andre Iguodala could opt out as well due to concerns from the Zika virus epidemic in Brazil. He hasn’t told USA Basketball he is out and still wants to play. But he is keenly watching the developments.
Pau Gasol has already publicly expressed his concerns may keep him from playing for Spain. One source connected with NBA players said LeBron James and Russell Westbrook are also considering pulling out.
I’m really worried for the Rio Olympics.
Aside from the Zika virus, there’s also the issue of safety for spectators.
