Snoop Dogg to Be Inducted Into WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2016
It’s official: Snoop Dogg is going into the WWE Hall of Fame!
WWE has confirmed that the rapper is this year’s inductee to the Celebrity Wing of the Hall of Fame Class of 2016, joining a list of inductees that includes Sting, The Godfather, Jacqueline Moore, Stan Hansen, The Fabulous Freebirds and The Big Boss Man.
Snoop has been a lifelong wrestling fan, and has made several high-profile appearances in WWE, from clotheslining Santino Marella at Wrestlemania 24, to guest-hosting Raw in 2009. In that episode, he even defended Hornswoggle by giving Chavo Guerrero a surprisingly awesome spear. I suppose you could make the argument that there are more deserving celebrity honorees like, say, Cyndi Lauper. But the truth of the matter is that Snoop Dogg is not only a fan who’s game for whatever WWE asks of him when he’s on the program, he also speaks out in support of the company in public, which makes sense considering his cousin is WWE superstar Sasha Banks. I’m betting she’ll induct him, which should make for a neat little moment at the ceremony. Congrats, Snoop!
