Six Actors Screen-Test for Marvel’s New Spider-Man in Atlanta
Here are the six actors who screen-tested for the role of Spider-Man in Atlanta on Saturday: Front-runner Asa Butterfield, along with Tom Holland were on hand, plus four surprise hopefuls.
It’s been known for a while that Asa Butterfield who starred in Ender’s Game was in the running, along with Tom Holland who appeared in The Impossible with Naomi Watts.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, joining Asa and Tom were:
Judah Lewis, a newcomer who appears in Demolition;
Matthew Lintz, who appears in Pixels starring Adam Sandler;
Charlie Plummer, who had a recurring role in Boardwalk Empire; and
Charlie Rowe, who starred in FOX’s Red Band Society.
No decision has been made on who will play Spider-Man who will appear in Captain America: Civil War and follow-up movies. So apparently, Asa still has not landed the role as previously reported.
On hand were Marvel head Kevin Feige, Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal, and Joe and Anthony Russo, the brothers directing Civil War.
If they are not satisfied with the screen-test results, they will continue looking.
