Sen. Rand Paul votes against COVID-19 coronavirus aid package

Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky voted against the COVID-19 coronavirus emergency bill after delaying the vote for a day in the Senate. Apparently, he is truly an asshole to the highest degree.

Eight other senators voted "Nay" to the bill dubbed Families First Coronavirus Response Act which is expected to be signed by Donald Trump. The bill will provide: free coronavirus testing, paid emergency leave, additional Medicaid funding, food assistance and unemployment benefits.

The senators who voted against this bill are:

  • Marsha Blackburn (R-TN)
  • Jim Inhofe (R-OK)
  • James Lankford (R-OK)
  • Mike Lee (R-UT)
  • Rand Paul (R-KY)
  • Ben Sasse (R-NE)
  • Tim Scott (R-SC)
  • Ron Johnson (R-WI)

All Republicans!

Sen. Rand Paul wanted to include a provision about Afghanistan in the bill which was voted down by the Senate.
