Sen. Mitch McConnell Says He Wants To ‘Deny Terrorists Guns’ After Blocking Bill That Would Have Done So
Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Tuesday that “nobody wants terrorists to have firearms” after a blistering attack from Democrats on Congress’s inaction to pass legislation.
I guess this guy is really old and losing his memory. Just last December, the Republicans whom he leads blocked a bill that would have stopped suspected terrorists from buying guns in the U.S.
Talk about amnesia!
U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday said “nobody wants terrorists to have firearms” and that he was open to suggestions from experts on legislation that could address the problem.
McConnell made his remarks amid blistering attacks by Democrats on the lack of action in Congress on legislation to deny suspects on “watch lists” from purchasing guns or explosives.
On Wednesday, Rep. Steve King said that terror suspects have the full right to defend themselves with guns.
Presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump however has changed his mind and will now talk to the NRA about banning the sale of guns to terror suspects, which has angered his conservative base.
