Scientists Discover Sea Sponge The Size Of A Minivan (VIDEO)

NOAA’s Okeanos Explorer discovered a sea sponge the size of a minivan during a deep see exploration in Hawaii last summer. It measured 12 feel long and seven feet wide, the largest on record.

It could also be one of the oldest living animals on earth right now.

A study published in the journal Marine Biodiversity on Thursday read: “While not much is known about the lifespan of sponges, some massive species found in shallow waters are estimated to live for more than 2,300 years.”
