Sam Simon, co-creator of ‘The Simpsons,’ dead at 59
Sam Simon, one of the co-creators of The Simpsons, has died. He was 59.
Simon was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer in 2012 and was told he had three to six months to live. He survived that diagnosis and in 2014 pledged to donate $100 million of his fortune to charity, mostly animal groups.
His foundation confirmed the news today on Facebook:
It is with much sadness that we must let you know that Sam Simon has passed over. We all miss him, and in his honor, we will continue bringing his vision to light through our work at The Sam Simon Foundation. We take comfort in knowing how many greetings he is receiving across that Rainbow Bridge. We love you Sam!
