Red Swarm Invades Christmas Island
A swarm of newly spawned red crabs was caught on video on Christmas Island as they make their way to the mainland. What a fantastic sight!
Kwok Chian Tang took the video of the crabs as they made their annual migration. The crabs are a common sight on Christmas Island which is a territory of Australia.
A few weeks ago adult female crabs released their eggs into the sea. Now the newly spawned crabs are coming back in. Amazing. The migration takes about 18 days and is considered one of the wonders of the world. There are tens of millions of these crabs on the island.
