Reba McEntire and Narvel Blackstock Split After 26 Years of Marriage
LOVE IS DEAD…like, more so this time.
Reba McEntire and her husband, Narvel Blackstock, have announced their separation after 26 years of marriage.
In a joint statement released earlier today, a representative for the couple confirmed that the duo had separated, and that they had been separated for several months now. However, the representative did not elaborate on whether or not any formal divorce paperwork had been filed just yet, or how this would affect the couple’s business partnership, as Blackstock is the country star’s manager.
“Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other,” the statement continued. “They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so. They have asked that you respect their privacy during this time.”
This is the second big divorce shocker in country music following the split of Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. Worse, it isn’t even the first divorce shocker today, as Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have announced their separation as well. In short, it’s rough out there for music industry couples. Hell, it’s rough out there for celebrity couples, in general. Not even Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner could avoid divorce. However, the situations with these couples are far more complicated than we’re likely to learn, so all we can do is simply express our wishes for the future.
Here’s hoping both McEntire and Blackstock find happiness in whatever lies ahead.
