‘Reality Check’: American Idol Runner-Up La’Porsha Renae On Song Choice, LGBT Apology, More (VIDEO)‘s resident reality TV expert Michael Slezak is back with an all-new episode of Reality Check!

In this special exit interview, Michael talks with American Idol 2016 runner-up La’Porsha Renae, who not only discusses some of her favorite performances from the show, but also which Whitney Houston song she outright refused to sing, why she approaches music as if it were lovemaking, and whether or not she regrets her controversial comments from Top 3 night. In addition, La’Porsha addresses the backlash on her comments about the LGBT “lifestyle” and her subsequent apology, while also discussing her opposition to discriminatory laws. It’s a genuinely fantastic interview that illustrates La’Porsha’s down-to-Earth nature and likability. I’m really loving these exit interviews, and how they’re framing each contestant’s journey on American Idol, while illuminating their life outside of it. I’m really hoping we get interviews with the rest of the Top 10, because the La’Porsha and Trent Harmon interviews have been great so far. Watch the videos below:
