‘Reality Check’: American Idol 2016 Premiere Thoughts, Highs and Lows (VIDEO)‘s resident reality TV expert Michael Slezak is back with American Idol 6 finalist Melinda Doolittle for the season premiere of Reality Check, as the duo gives their thoughts on the farewell season premiere of American Idol 2016!

In the season premiere of Reality Check, Michael and Melinda seem pretty intrigued by this season’s lineup so far, as the hosts consider that this might be the most exciting group of contestants in a long time, as well as the deepest bench of talent that the series has had at such an early point in the season. But this is about a lot more than just great singers, as Michael and Melinda also enact their “veto power”, discussing which Golden Tickets they would revoke from the season premiere — in particular, a group of teens who just might not be ready for the strains of American Idol. In addition, the hosts talk about two of the most unpleasant moments of the premiere. And yes, they involve some really, really big celebrities. It’s another terrific episode, as usual, as Michael and Melinda not only offer keen insight, but some funny observations as well.
