Rare Photo of Hachiko Dog Found
An 81-year-old photo of the famous Japanese dog Hachiko has been found. It was taken around 1934.
Hachiko was a dog found in Shibuya railway station patiently waiting for his human to come home. Unfortunately, the owner had died already. Hachiko stayed at the same spot waiting every day – such loyalty!
A statue was erected at that spot scene in the photo. He’s a local legend.
The photo was taken by Isamu Yamamoto and his daughter Yoko Imamura said (via Life with Dogs): “Hachiko was a familiar sight to those living near Shibuya Station. I hope the photo my father took will be preserved carefully.”
